The Portage Cemetery is the burial place of a large portion of the John Family. It is located less than a mile west of Portage. There are approximately 998 memorials here. Individual images and additional information can be found on Find a Grave and their interactive Map. 

The lots are organized in numerical order, starting at the South-East corner and running north until section 12A when a new sequence is started at 13 running north to 24A. Each even numbered section is followed directly by a smaller "A" section. For example, the first sequence is 1, 2, 2A, 3, 4, 4A etc. These "A" Sections were once "lanes."
